A PRAYER FOR THE WORLD DURING THE FIRES -2026

God of mercy and comfort,

we come to You with heavy hearts as fires rage across the world and so many people live in fear, loss, and uncertainty. Special for Canada, countries in Europe.

Lord, bring protection over every community in danger. Place Your hand over to all; firefighters, volunteers firefighters from Mexico, Costa Rica and more that are helping as good neighbors in hard situation we are living in, first responders, pilots, medical teams, and volunteers—give them strength, wisdom, endurance, and safety as they work. Guide their decisions and steady their hearts.

We pray for those who have been forced to flee: provide shelter, food, clean air, and the support they need. Comfort those who have lost homes, livelihoods, animals, and treasured memories. Be especially near to the elderly, the sick, children, and all who feel alone.

Father, send relief—calm the winds, bring rain in due season, and help containment come quickly. Protect the land and the creatures that cannot escape. Heal what has been burned and restore what has been damaged.

Stir compassion in leaders and neighbours. Unite communities in generosity and courage. Provide resources for recovery, and open doors for long-term rebuilding that is wise, just, and caring for creation.

Above all, Lord Jesus, be our peace in the midst of disaster. Turn our fear into prayer, our sorrow into love, and our helplessness into faithful action.

We trust You, and we ask for Your mercy over the world.
